We were selected by the Department of Health to develop an online community for practitioners working in physical activity and related fields.
The brief was for the site to be engaging and fresh, to break out of the NHS style and to be easy to manage by non-technical staff. We came up with the name and branding and produced a design that worked across all of the different themes. The site is easy to use with clear, consistent navigation and use of iconography.
The site includes news & events, resources, a partner directory and discussion forums. Registered users can customise their home page depending on their areas of interest. Users are encouraged to share information and resources. The site meets Double A accessibility standards.
Content on the website is managed by various different admin staff. We provided training so the process of updating information was as simple as possible. We integrated our easy-to-use content management system iControl for this purpose, tailored to the client's specific requirements.
Wellbeing South East launched in September 2008 and has been very positively received. Since launch we have been working on new phases to enhance the site based on user feedback and organisational requirements, including integrating new Change4Life and breastfeeding initiatives.
